Destroy with purpose

Or perhaps I will force my heart
        to an earthquake —
        a dismantling that I refuse
to allow but in a precise
        fissure — a tremulous shift
that will be brief as possible,
        the musculature will find
        new companions in this
        rearrangement, a necessary
        reshuffling of salvation.
