We’re outside for this image, hugging the hedge, the only green known to dusklight.    It’s neither a quick dissolution nor a negligible mist. Pictures echo in, echo out: a house, a cradle trimmed in signal static. You’re standing before a gauzy rampart draped indifferently over horizon. Naively I call this home.

Sara Renee Marshall
hails from the queen city of the plains, Denver, Colorado. Her writing has appeared in Poor Claudia, Colorado Review, OmniVerse, jubilat, in chapbooks, and elsewhere. She holds a degree in Political Science and an MFA in Poetry, both from University of Colorado. Sara is now completing a PhD at University of Georgia. With Thomas and Rosa Bernadette, she lives and writes in Atlanta.

This is Marshall’s second above/ground press chapbook, after The Landscapes Were in My Arms (figure 1) (2018).
