some author activity: beaulieu, McKinnon, Carr, Martin, McCann, mclennan, Reid;
Calgary author derek beaulieu is shortlisted as one of six nominees for Calgary's first Poet Laureate, and, as such, here is a reading he did as part of the recent shortlist showcase; Prince George poet Barry McKinnon's poetry collection Pulp/Log is available (apparently) here as a free download (but you should really pick up a copy of his The Centre: Poems 1970-2000, published by Talonbooks in 2004, which also includes the collection); Emily Carr now has audio of her reading some of her poems online at One Pause Poetry Project (check her site here for further/ongoing updates on her doings); and above/ground press authors Camille Martin, Marcus McCann, rob mclennan and Monty Reid all have new works up in the fourth issue of seventeen seconds: a journal of poetry and poetics.
